St. Chad’s House is a mid-terrace Victorian house in Southfields in Leek, which belonged to Hermione Warren, a faithful member of the congregation at All Saints Church. In her will, Miss Warren left the house to the care of the Hermione Warren trustees as a place of healing and retreat.
The house includes a chapel where Christian worship is regularly held, drawing on the richness of the wider Christian tradition and including Celtic forms of prayer and reflection. It offers a peaceful and welcoming space for all who seek quiet, worship, and spiritual renewal.
A growing library is also available, with a wide range of resources on the healing ministry, Celtic spirituality, and general theology, alongside books for personal devotion and study.
The collection also includes a selection of youth and children’s books, making it a space that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

Use of the house for Christian events, such as church away days, quiet days, and team gatherings.
We can accommodate up to around 16 people for day visits. With prior arrangement with the wardens, a home-cooked lunch, tea, or light refreshments can be provided for groups attending during the day.

Leek is a charming market town (with market day on Wednesdays), ideally situated within easy reach of the beautiful walking countryside of the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District. The town is well known for its antique shops, and on Saturdays hosts an antiques market in the Market Square.

Hi there,
We’re a close-knit family of six, and we believe we’re the first to serve as wardens at St Chad’s as a large family. Our four wonderful grown-up children and teenagers bring us endless joy. We’ve been homeschooling for the past 25 years, and it’s been a truly rewarding journey.
Now, with three children who are adults, we feel incredibly grateful for our family. One of them got married in Leek this spring, which will make our family five, plus our two beloved dogs at home. We cherish laughter, creativity, and time with others. We have been in Christian ministry for over 20 years, and just this January started volunteering as wardens here.
